LUSITANO BROODMARE. ORQUIDEA MOR. Imported Portuguese bloodlines. Rare opportunity to acquire wonderful old bloodlines. We are retiring from the breeding business and selling our stock. A mare of her quality would normally be at least $30,000. Her sire was Zico, the foundation stallion for the renouned breeder of Andalusian/Lusitano horses, the Cortijo las Morerias, Mexico. Her grandsire was Nilo, a famous stallion in Portugal and featured in Lusitano breed books. Orquidea Mor is easy to breed. She foals with no problems, has plenty of good milk, and is an attentive mother but not overly so. She has no problem with letting her newborn interact with us. She has had 9 babies for us and we decided to give her a year off. You may choose from either one of our stallions for a free 2010 breeding: Exaustivo and Veneno Imperial.
